Dan Painter joined Schroeder, Blankemeyer and Clinton as a law clerk in January 2022 and remains with the firm following his graduation from Ohio Northern University - Claude W. Pettit College of Law. Dan concentrates his practice in estate planning, probate, and related areas of the law.

Dan has been an asset to the firm from the outset, with a consistent focus on doing what is in each client’s best interest. Attention to detail is essential in estate planning, and Dan is meticulous in his work, never cutting corners and always striving for excellence. But estate planning and administration are not just about details—they are about people, and his concern for the people behind the legal matter is one of Dan’s great strengths. Clients especially appreciate his empathy, listening, and sensitivity during challenging life transitions.

A native of Minnesota who moved to Lima, Ohio with his family as a young teen, Dan has always been interested in the law and in helping people. While he enjoys continuously deepening his legal knowledge and experience, Dan’s favorite part of his work is getting to know his clients and helping them to achieve peace of mind regarding their family’s future. He takes a client-focused approach to practice, working to achieve his clients’ stated wishes, and candidly advising them about the best way to reach their goals.

When not practicing law, Dan enjoys spending time with his wife and their daughter in his wife’s hometown of Kalida, where they plan to raise their family. Dan is also interested in languages, and has devoted himself to learning Spanish, French, and Catalan.
